I'm nearly done with Jane Eyre and one thing that I've noticed is that Jane describes female characters in excessive positive detail and describes all male characters by absolutely destroying them via their worst, most unattractive feature. Anyway, Happy Pride
MIDSUMMER SISTERS is out TODAY!! please like my book!!!!
If you watch long enough, you can see her have a single thought, and then immediately lose it.
Procrastinating from work by posting my May calendar that I draw when I'm procrastinating from work. This month featuring flowers from my garden, my own washi tape and my OWN homegrown procrastination.
happy pride, shoutout as always to the 1978 gilbert baker pride flag which had pink and turquoise stripes for SEX AND MAGIC AND ART, and in this house we support gay sex and gay magic and gay art
I'm reading Jane Eyre for the first time, and honest question: is the reader supposed to like Mr. Rochester? Like if you can specify the exact qualities I'm supposed to admire that would help.
Clues by Sam didn't kick my ass today and I'm VERY HAPPY ABOUT IT
Wherever you land on this spectrum, you are valid and I support you
Thinking about doing a bunch of Georgia O'Keefe style paintings but instead of painting floral vaginas I'd do a series of floral buttholes. Exhibit A, this iris bud (butt) showcasing its own hemorrhoid
not drawing comic: oh how i wish i was drawing my comic drawing comic: how stupid of me, how foolish of an endeavor. each passing moment is agony. the sin of creativity which i have committed so naively has banished me to this purgatory of endless torment, that now i must draw a cash register
Please enjoy this perfect picture of my cat Squish zonked out after SCREAMING for her daily morning snuggles.
Befriend your local librarians. Not only will they give you great book recommendations, but they'll tell you everything you need to know about the cat who hangs out in the library parking lot. Her name is Gita, she's allowed in the library entryway but NOT inside, and she's perfect.
I wrote this essay last fall for print only & I'm republishing it with their permission bc we're talking about didactism in kidlit right now and I have HAD thoughts about the connection between instructive lit and book banning. I'd be honored if you read it. www.prettyokmaggie.com/blog/2026/5/...

April's illustrated calendar! Less depression than March, and way more book signing
HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY TO BATCAT BOOK 4!!! I'm going to celebrate the same way I've celebrated the last three books: going to a cat cafe and hanging out with some cats and some even cooler comic kids.
The existence of women's sports is a historical one that was reinforced at regular intervals by patriarchal assumptions that women are more fragile and need to be "protected" It doesn't reflect any statistical truth (1/2)
By the way here is some data on trans people's performance in sports bjsm.bmj.com/content/58/1... And here are some interesting articles on sex categories in sports journals.library.wustl.edu/lawreview/ar... www.researchgate.net/publication/... Spoilers: there are no good reasons to segregate
I like my cities to be sittable, shittable, and public transittable.
benches, buses, and bathrooms. they should be everywhere
And here's a sneak peek of April's illustrated calendar!
My illustrated calendar for March is mainly about how depressed I was while also being ecstatic over the fact that I haven't yet killed my monstera.
Did you know you can use your obsessive need to color coordinate as a way of procrastinating from your real job? Anyway, here's my illustrated calendar for February, featuring a selection of Olympic pins and Olympic memories.
I gave an artist talk at a local college and while compiling a presentation of my work history I came to the conclusion that maybe I should chill the fuck out every once in a while
Kicking myself for drawing a graphic novel that has bicycles AND horses AND incredibly specific historical references in it. And don't get me STARTED on the amount of hands.
