Not surprised to see many people not understand the point of my original post (this isnt a dig on fanart or your set up) but talking about SHOWS not understanding proper curation. "You have to draw every day if you want to make it" is tired, burnout-inducing, elitist advice and if I hear it again Im going to start giving out demerits. Draw when you can, when you have motivation, and if your intent is to improve always try to attach one goal to your drawing to focus on.

What’s a thing from your area of expertise (or special interest) that you think it would behoove everyone else to know?

Seriously, DON’T draw every day. That’s how I developed a repetitive strain injury and had to take an extended break from drawing for months while it healed. That was over a decade ago and it STILL gives me trouble if I draw for a few hours without taking a break. Please, please take breaks 😭

They should invent a bluesky that doesn’t compress my art that is, and I cannot stress this enough, less than 1 MB in file size, to hell regardless of actual file dimensions so I don’t have to save a second version of everything I draw

I do think not enough people know this - everything after a question mark in a URL is garbage. You can delete it all and the URL still works fine. Strip that shit out when sharing anything.

The USS Constitution is neat and all, but my favorite boat at the Charlestown Navy Yard is this little guy (which I've learned is the smallest active duty vessel and is called the "Boomin' Beaver" because it was originally developed to herd logs for the timber industry)

hating your art is not a virtue, it's a sign of burn out or mental illness. the same way your muscles ache if you exercise too much or your stomach hurts if you're starving. learn to identify it as a sign you're pushing too hard or expecting too much of yourself somehow and check in with yourself.
