Ooh, had a person tell me that I’m not worth talking to as a tabletop person in Canada because I wasn’t “big enough to be worth the time.” Honestly it’s a common enough sentiment about me but I’ve never heard it so brazenly stated before. Fun email to read before work I suppose!

One: This is the problem with thinking we can make the same choices as the people who turned into fascists without becoming fascist. Two: I too, am worried. Three: This ‘calling a snap election for a mandate’ reaction keeps causing messes like this. Stop it, damn it.
“Noordin you should dress like your celebrity lookalike for Hallowe’en!” SHH. NO. Think who my celebrity lookalike IS for a second… see? Exactly. I’m still a year shy of 33, we are taking NO chances, alright? None. (And yes, another person said it today. 🤦🏽♂️)
A lot of people are struggling to write these days and the best advice I can give, as someone whose words have ended up everywhere, is this: You’d be surprised at the amount of sins that can be forgiven if you’re writing an interesting argument in your own words. Especially if it’s a novel one.
Ok so we did talk about for over 1 hour about this AP. We also discuss Satyajit Ray's Devi. A brilliant film that you should watch [its on YouTube], and other topics from colonialism, sexism, misogyny, body autonomy, and I even reference Hazbin Hotel and DDLJ. C'mon algorithm do your thing.

You know I don’t really think of myself as anything but average. And then, in surprising, special, and frequently painful ways, I am harshly reminded that no: in every physical way I am decidedly above average. Ow.
If you claim to be a white ally, pls make sure you advocate for PoC even when none are in the room. Especially. I’m so tired of seeing TTRPG events that have a single PoC or none. If you’re white, slide into comments/DMs to ask about the lack of representation. That’s how change happens.

Deeply saddened to see that the programs that #PAXTogether had, are now gone. Not even mentioned on the PAX website. So fucking disheartening and I really wanna know why @officialpax.bsky.social thought it'd be a good idea to get rid of them
Okay, I’m gonna say something because I’m just now coming from work and my frustration metrics are off the charts. I didn’t like Dragon Age: The Veilguard, tbh, but if you think that it, or any individual game, killed BioWare, you’re one of the reasons why games are dying. 1/3

Unfortunately even if we all worked for free, software costs money. Hardware costs money. Mo-cap, actors, they cost money. This is also the reason some really shitty people still have sway in the industry. They have the money or the money wants them most. We’re sinking over here.
