Predator control of microbivorous fauna is required to enhance microbial turnover and SOM stabilization
Soil organic matter (SOM) stabilization is increasingly attributed to microbial processing and the formation of microbial necromass, yet these pathway…

It has been really inspiring to get to know about so much great research and to connect with a lot of passionate researchers at the wonderful @gsb2026.bsky.social. I am also really grateful for the chance I had to share and discuss some parts of my PhD work in two oral and one poster presentations.
What an amazing conference! Is there anything better than spending 4 days talking about soil with fantastic soil researchers? Until next time #GSB2026!!
A bit sad to leave beautiful Vancouver Island after #GSB2026. Thank you @lindolab.bsky.social and @carlosbarreto.bsky.social for an amazing conference!
This week is #GSB4 #GSB2026, the highlight of the soil biodiversity calendar! Sadly I couldn't make it this time (the joys of being a new father), so I guess I'll just contribute some photos instead... starting with this beautiful red-legged mite traversing a moss-covered log. #SoilBiodiversity 🧪

Physically I could not join the #GSB2026 in Victoria, #Canada (such a pity!), but I see my poster hanging there for you #SoilBiodiversity enthusiasts. 🤎 Thanks to @jseeber.bsky.social for presenting it for me! Missed it? No problem, find it here and enjoy reading it. 🤓 doi.org/10.13140/RG....

📃 Poster Session II
Day 2 of #gsb2026 was a blast - so many people doing interesting things! Proud to represent @btwnthefjords-uib.bsky.social and present preliminary results from FUNDER betweenthefjords.w.uib.no/funder/ at such a cool conference! (thanks for snapping the pic @paulkardol.bsky.social!)
📣 A huge thank you to our first two keynote speakers, Dr. Marín (@cmarin.bsky.social) and Dr. Jansson, for starting #GSB2026 off strong! Topics ranged from soil microbes as climate solutions to complexity science as a foundation for mycorrhizal research; we could not imagine a stronger start!
Today's NETSOB lunchtime symposium will focus on #soilbiodiversity indicators, metrics, and harmonized monitoring methods to support global, regional, + national soil #monitoring systems. 12:30-13:30 Join us ! @gsb2026.bsky.social #GSB2026 (Oak Bay 1)
We are also present at #gsb2026 ☺️ #soilbiodiversity @gsb2026.bsky.social David Fernández Calviño @uvigo.bsky.social showing results from our agricultural sites at #bioserviceseu project.
🎤 Our second plenary speaker: Dr. César Marín @cmarin.bsky.social hosted by our own Wim van der Putten
Reflecting on an incredible first day of #GSB2026 🪱 A warm welcome and official transition of leadership to the new Scientific Chair, @lindolab.bsky.social! We cannot wait to see what the future holds! Now onto day two 🐜
