This past week, I had the pleasure of participating in the 4th Global Soil Biodiversity Conference 2026. What an amazing array of specialists and excellent presentations! Can’t wait to attend the next edition! Big thanks to @thegsbi.bsky.social and everyone involved! #GSB2026

It has been really inspiring to get to know about so much great research and to connect with a lot of passionate researchers at the wonderful @gsb2026.bsky.social. I am also really grateful for the chance I had to share and discuss some parts of my PhD work in two oral and one poster presentations.

That’s a wrap on #GSB2026! 🎉 We cannot thank you all enough for coming out, providing fantastic presentations, making connections, and keeping soil biodiversity at the forefront of ecological research (in our completely unbiased opinion) 🪱 Safe travels home & see you all real soon!

I recently discovered this incredible creature while on a night walk in the NZ bush. Known as a 'Velvet Worms', this adorable predator immobilises prey with organic glue fired from turrets on its head! Oh... and they are basically unchanged in about 400 million years! #TheWorldBeneathOurFeet 🧪
