as a thank you for helping us hit our funding goal, here is a tiny snippet from one of the new stories in the book!!

"Hey!" Adra sputtered, then froze, the book slipping from their grip and flopping over onto their face. They yanked their hand out of the blanket as they flailed about, trying to grab at the book and snap it shut.

Unfortunately, Criticality was too keen and too quick. He snatched the book in one swift, elegant motion, forcing Adra to sit up and protest.

"Give it back," they huffed, followed by, "How did you get in here? I thought I locked the door!"

"So you did," he replied, mildly, as he held the book just out of their reach. He turned a few pages, slowly. "Mm. Interesting reading material, nightingale."

He paused, bending over them. His cracked helm revealed only an inscrutable abyss, but they knew he was appraising them; they knew he could hear their heartbeat, could taste the arousal in their blood. And they were, mortifyingly, still aroused.

First Friend 🐈 @runehallow.bsky.social told me yesterday that Adra found Scrambled Eggs as a skinny stray and brought her home, and I had to draw it 😭💖

Adra crouches down, holding their braid in one hand and reaching out toward the camera in the other. On the second panel, we see who they are reaching out for: a skinny street cat, tense and wary. It is Scrambled Eggs, before they become the fat spoiled housecat seen in the present.

Adra: It's okay darling. I won't hurt you.
Adra: Do you want to come home with me?
