Over the past year, various members of our community have graciously contributed their voices and stories to our archive. We started this project in the hopes of preserving sex-worker-produced history, and are proud to see that goal become a reality. Wh-oral Archive: Opening Evening On Monday, September 21st, starting at 18:00 we will be hosting an intimate event for sex workers and allies to celebrate those who contributed their voice to our oral archive. At this event, you will be able to listen to the recordings, explore the "lippy" exhibition space, join us for a Q&A with our archivists, and enjoy a borrel! Please be aware that this is an event for community members and allies. If you are neither, you are welcome to visit the exhibit on the following Tuesday instead (mentioned below). Please also email us at redlightsexworkerarchive@proton.me to confirm your space on Monday, as capacity is limited. If you do not RSVP, we cannot guarantee you a spot at this event. Wh-oral Archive: Walk-In Exhibit On Tuesday, September 22nd, 12:00-17:00 we will be hosting an 'open house' day for people to drop by and experience our exhibit. This means that the Prostitution Information Center will be open to the public, so that anyone can come listen to the recordings that make up our Sex Worker Oral Archive. After this event, the recordings will only be accessible by appointment, so take advantage of this special opportunity! Especially the sex industry, where women have been innovating, creating, surviving, working for centuries. It’s an honor to be part of this long tradition. Happy IWD to all who celebrate! ❣️❣️❣️

Today on International Women's Day, we honor the women who have organized, resisted, and fought for dignity across every industry- including sex work. Sex workers have long been part of feminist and labor movements, even when their stories are erased. #InternationalWomensDay #SexWorkIsWork
