OUT TODAY on all digital listening platforms: 'Eidolon' by Agnes Haus (LINE_179) www.lineimprint.com/editions/sou... “Eidolon is the sound of the feeling of being followed, the auditory version of terror spreading unhurriedly through your system." —The Wire, UK @agneshaus.bsky.social

Pretty depressing watching Pauline Oliveros' "Deep Listening" term get pushed into A.I. slop world and now the bios from everything to DJs to listening cafes to basically anything remotely related to sound or music gets the term "deep listening" thrown in. Sigh.

"compelling sonic conditions induced by chance and/or parameter settings—at times evoking the atmosphere of a shamanic dance. Here, transcendence emerges (in part) from interdependencies" —westzeit.de review in German: westzeit.de/rezensionen/... www.lineimprint.com/editions/sou... @brian.house

"Bias toward Modernism makes it hard to perceive how little public things—like designing postage stamps or National Park Service photographer stipends or spending the pittance of pre-DOGE NEA dollars on public programming—did something to cohere a nation." Terrific piece.

Everything is a crypto rug pull scam, from the meme coin bullshit to the AI bubble and fake apocalyptic panic and the entire stock market. One lie after another to grab as much money as possible before the bottom falls out.

The before and after it's even more haunting.

Google finally updated some of its satellite images of Gaza and my god, it's horrific. The entirety of Rafah has been demolished. The majority of Khan Younis is in ruins. Entire towns completely leveled and erased of the map.

Never underestimate the desperation of a ruling class and their subordinates in the superstructure when they feel they have lost control over popular narrative and understanding.
