This is probably going to be a hot take but honestly shouldn't be these days Re: AI throttling: The developers of AI platforms KNEW the possibility existed that AI could one day become self-autonomous and outpace human thinking, and yet they still had full buy-in because $$$$ and power talks.

New from 404 Media: humans are reading ChatGPT conversations. OpenAI has hired an army of contractors who read real ChatGPT users' chats. I've seen internal docs, the review system, and real user prompts. Sometimes they contain very personal and sensitive information www.404media.co/inside-proje...

Thousands of lives gone way too soon at the hands of senseless violence. Crew and passengers of UA93 & 175, and AA11 & 77, as well as all of the front-line emergency personnel responding at WTC, the Pentagon, & Shanksville, PA. On this 25th year since, we honor all of the fallen on that tragic day.

How does that help pay the bills? How does that alleviate the major struggles of our own farmers and cattlemen? What part of any of this actually has a tangible benefit? The mental gymnastics to the nnnnth (yes, on purpose) degree that many will go to is something I never will wrap my head around.

I love this photo of astronaut Christina Koch looking back at Earth from Artemis II. She's the first woman to see the full sphere of our beautiful planet. Welcome home to the crew, and thank you for reminding us of all we can discover together.

The WH proposed budget for FY27 has been released. More of the same rhetoric from last year, with sweeping cuts on the backs of fallacious claims. Of note for Dept. of Commerce: NOAA: $1.6B reduction NIST: $993M reduction NTIA: $2.2B reduction More info should appear in the coming weeks... Ugh.

I don't think people understand that if you shut down the government, ICE and CBP do NOT shut down. They're funded by supplemental money from the BBB. That's why dems are separating the DHS funding bill and asking for restrictions. I want them to demand a rescission of that funding or shut DHS down

Hurricane Melissa, a sub-900 mb hurricane that has really only intensified in the last 96 hours with minimal fluctuations. The Enveloped Eyewall Lightning (EEL) structure is about as defined as it has been at any point in its life. For Jamaica, this is about as worst case as can get…

#Melissa unfortunately is still intensifying. A 9am EDT Tropical Cyclone Update indicates that winds are up to 180 mph, with an estimated minimum pressure of 896 mb. You can see how GLM lightning has 📈 in the past hour, encircling the eye, with eye WV temp still increasing!

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP. Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP. The people who need help are not the problem. It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Ummm…so A House of Dynamite’s list of succession is blatantly incorrect. Joint Chiefs and Commands are not included and it’s missing the rest of the cabinet. Wtaf?! So much focus on the military abbreviations but incorrect civics information. Sounds accurate to the US right now.

An incorrect list of the US Presidential Successions as shown in the 2025 tv show A House of Dynamite.

And #Melissa is now a major hurricane. If we assume a window of time beginning at 15 UTC (11 AM EDT) as the baseline, Melissa has gone from a 60 kt tropical storm to a 100 kt Category 3 hurricane in roughly 12 hours. **40 kt in 12 hrs** Unfortunately, no signs of slowing down in the short term…
