The Voting Rights Act helped to ensure when I was growing up in Alabama, my elected school board and city and county leaders were multiracial. I’m grateful for how they shaped & improved my community and my schools and believe we must work hard to preserve these gains other before us worked for.

Charlotte-Mecklebburg Schools, according to reports, saw 15% of its students absent today amid Border Patrol operations in Charlotte. Victory! Child Care Providers ratified our third contract with the state after months of negotiations, rallies, and vigils. This comes after both #CALeg and Governor Newsom have ratified this agreement!

So disappointed by this decision to wind down our local NPR station due to fed & univ cuts. I joined several NPR programs over my years here to talk about my research. I’m also frustrated for our community & as a parent who has a kid who adores listening to/ learning from NPR when he’s in the car.
