Ukraine blows up Yandex centers, and world wide negative noise quiets down to almost nothing…Alberta separatists, German Nazi groups, etc. Just in case you didn’t believe the importance of Russian influence and destabilization around the world…#SlavaUkraini

🧵 A reminder #OTD that 'Hardrada' makes no sense in any language. The Norwegian king who died at Stamford Bridge in #1066 was called Haraldr harðráði in Old Norse. Such bynames or nicknames can (and should) usually be translated. His means something like 'Hard Ruler' or 'Stern Ruler'.

Beautiful words from Carney: In the heart of Germany, above Weimar, there is a wooded ridge called Ettersberg. For decades, Goethe walked, thought, and wrote there. An oak on that ridge came to bear his name, a living monument to the highest ideals of European culture www.pm.gc.ca/en/news/spee...

A carved hilt of a wooden sword. The pommel is shaped like the head of a bearded man, and the hilt has a woven pattern
