A Blender experiment with my old mecha design that turned into like 4 hours of manual coloring and compositing I'm still figuring things out but I hope to keep pushing and learning how to make things move!

Manga letterer/retouch artist - fonts, sound effects, and typography! Hobbyist animator and Beyblade sicko
Back from my week off tomorrow and desperately desperately in need of work. I’m not getting payments for thing I did, my car is broken down, and I’ve got a big gap in schedule work coming up. In a much tougher position after a vacation than I planned on. If you have any leads on work, let me know
People have really deluded themselves into thinking that using this gen-AI vibe-coded social media platform they've siloed themselves off in is a sign of moral fortitude.
Toei keeps sabotaging their own subs for My-th by going back and replacing all the translated terminology with the stupid all-caps untranslated nonsense. Destroyed a joke/pun and we've had consistently incorrect grammar every episode since they changed "Inexplicable" to "FUKASHIGI".
it's me. I'm the guy who keeps telling artists that using reference is cheating. is using reference cheating? of course it isn't. but I'm not very good at drawing yet and don't need the competition bringing me down. Flectere si nequeo superos, Acheronta movebo.
New arrival for the work shelf Beyblade X volume 7 releases October 13! Flipping through this, it's absolutely some of my best work yet. I'll be talking about it soon!
The goal is of course to replace entry-level jobs with AI, but I have to ask: 1) what do you think happens to an industry with no entry-level workers 2) what is the point of a publisher that doesn’t sell books
“The average entry-level salary for New York City publishing employees at the Big Five and Scholastic was $47,583 in 2023.” And yet they’re happy to bankroll enterprise LLM licenses and AI engineers making $200k
More than two dozen workers at three major publishing houses—HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, and Hachette—tell WIRED that LLMs are being used for publicity, cover art, back cover copy, and emails, as some execs push junior staff to champion the tech. Read the full story: buff.ly/p0ymGmN

>Kazuhiko Torishima threatened to strip Toei of their secondary rights to Dragon Ball and threatened Fuji TV with canceling all the Jump anime on the station if they blocked the NAS/TV-Tokyo Yugioh anime from being greenlit I've never heard a story about this man not being a certified demon lmao

Adobe Suite getting a vibe-coded knockoff is the perfect storm of "literally everyone in the story is wrong" we haven't gotten in a while!
not to discource but while I don't think that new avatar show looks bad it does look like a bunch of shots are missing inbetweens, to me it feels plainly unfinished lol
I'm still available for work btw! Anything and everything is appreciated 🫶
So, How Does The Green Work, Anyway??? Working on the lettering (English text) for The Guy She Was Interested Wasn’t A Guy At All has been an interesting experience. I primarily work in black and white manga, or on rare occasions, full color.
I don't really go outside anymore but I'm going to an art gallery tonight and I'm very excited :)
This was already true of Seed Freedom to some degree but I'm here for the Shinn Asuka Apology Tour 2027
The way Zeta Gundam tackles gender is Complicated™ but I do applaud it for how it handles Paptimus Scirocco as a villain. The way it so clearly shows how a man will abuse and manipulate the women around him under the guise of being a supportive feminist ally makes him feel so realistically gross

For this one Yen gave me another bucket-list letterer, teaming me up with @brandonbovia.bsky.social, so you know these pages look great!
I've got another out now from Yen Press--Gen Momoji's "Let's Go Nirvana"! When Kazunobu goes into witness protection in a Buddhist temple, he never expects life there to be tougher than it was in the yakuza! Weirdly slice-of-life while also being totally off the wall.
Waxed poetic about that Lanterns show and how its lowest-rated episode had the most to say about a bullshit aspirational platitude.

I quite enjoyed I'm Looking For a Zombie's first episode, so I looked it up and saw it was based on a manga that ran for 18 chapters and got the axe. Then I decided to read all of it, and now I'm wondering what we're doing here.
my mecha drawing has been getting better lately, damn. much more confident, clean shapes!
