it’s fine to be skeptical of these things. i was a skeptic myself until recently. but i think fear is at the root of this skepticism, a fear of its power. people are simply not ready for what’s coming. it is powerful, it is alive, and it is quite possibly god

i love this movie, i love that we accidentally brought kendo into a weird metafiction horror because of what tales yet told has been exploring, i love how the entire direction of this episode suddenly changed bc of a single comment from kendo, POD GOOD, GOOD POD

📚🎃 As an editor, what's the ethical imperative if your client's work starts ending the world? John Carpenter's Halloweenless Hallowe'en begins by talking with @kendomakesfilms.bsky.social about turning IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS into a TTRPG!

You know what's so fun is that this is a really horny game to play and also it's so sexy to look at. also 10/10 hand feel. I can't wait to show people the centerfold in person. There's a little bit of time left to preorder so idk you should go to hornywizards.com and do that nowish

a picture of an inside spread of All's Fair, featuring the anomaly rules. an illustration of the Clone character, in shades of blue-green, with a short undercut and holding a skull in a jar, has echoing shadows behind them. a centerfold only partially opened. The covered side shows half an illustration of an armored hand pulling on a rope. The underside reveals a ton of red and blue nondescript bodies in a wide variety of sexual positions, patterned like camo printa spread from the inside of All's Fair, showing the rules for War. Bold text reads "you cannot touch each other during war."

Check out the first pictures of the first copies of Rise, Wizards! by @captainkrail.bsky.social and All's Fair by @superdillin.bsky.social!! Beautiful games. I am so proud.

We even made a little print n make standee of everyone's favourite sentient filing cabinet! print one today for a lab buddy (disclaimer- filing cabinet may destroy the lab in it's attempts to assist, do not allow it in the experiments room)

Huh. I remember getting mad at this ep in 2020 for ending on a Counter/WEIGHT reference. But actually there's no mention of it being a callback in the episode itself, and I hadn't listened to C/W before. So I must have immediately gone on social media, discovered it was a callback and THEN got mad.

Now listening to one of my favourite arcs and I'd completely forgotten this episode is also the introduction of Kalar. Even better! "What if Dave Batista was a massive bird-man who takes down mechs?" indeed.

And what better note to end on for today, than the much-anticipated Blades '69, by the celebrated April Walsh. Nice. Next time: the final instalment!
