For the record, the proportion of professors at Cambridge who are Black is 0.4%. The number of Black people in the UK population is 4%. So the number of Black professors at Cambridge is ONE TENTH of what you would expect in a meritocracy.

Just finished easily the best book I've read in the past year: Minute Six by @drkevinfong.bsky.social Look out for it in September, especially if you're interested in people, systems & teamwork (and you should be - we all depend on all of them). Absolutely essential reading, brilliantly written.

Was - very, very briefly - in Boston. More Scottish people in town for the #WorldCup than there are in Scotland I think. Became an honorary Scot & sat in the bar and watched the 🇨🇦 v 🇶🇦 game with a few of them last night. Great fun. #IamConorMcFongoftheClanMcFong
