Refugee families belong together. War, persecution and violence tear families apart. Since the government suddenly suspended Refugee Family Reunion over a year ago, safely reuniting in the UK has become almost impossible for many. The impact is devastating: www.helenbamber.org/resources/re...

Under proposed changes in the Immigration and Asylum Bill 2026, delays, missing information or inconsistencies in what a survivor of human trafficking says could count against their credibility. But trauma can make remembering and talking about what happened much more complicated. 🧵

People seeking asylum need safe accommodation in communities where they can rebuild their lives, look to the future & live with dignity. But the for-profit asylum housing model is failing them & causing irreparable harm. We’ve joined 50+ organisations calling on the new government to act.

Dear Andy Burnham,
You say Britain needs more social housing.
You say communities need more local power.
You say public services should be for the public, not profits.
We say, don't discriminate and apply these principles to all people, including people seeking safety.
