Confidence is rising that a major storm--including heavy precipitation--may affect SoCal later this week (Thu into Fri). There is still uncertainty, but risk of significant (i.e., more than "nuisance"-level) flash flooding/debris flows in recent wildfire zones is growing. #CAwx

Yes. And all of this - pro bono legal support, mental health support, childcare support - is also what librarians, teachers, health care providers, professors, scientists, organizers, & so many people working for good in this world need. Our struggles are all intertwined. So are solutions.

At AGU I spent lots of time talking to NASA people about how agencies could better support the open-source tools they rely on. I argued that our recent collaboration between Xarray and NASA ESDIS on xarray.DataTree was a good model to copy - read about how it happened here! xarray.dev/blog/datatree
