Celebrating 30 years of VIB today, and we have plenty of ideas about what comes next. VIB.AI took the stage as a model built across centers, with affiliated PIs, and supported by the VIB Data Core and VIB AI Studio. Niklas Kempynck brought the science with a fantastic talk.

I've always wanted to see a total eclipse. But it was so much better than I ever imagined. We went to Mallorca. We walked a lot. Found a perfect little spot. Read Annie Dillard's wonderful essay 'Total Eclipse' as we waited. Saw the total eclipse (with some clouds right at the end). Magic.
Juicing out being in Glasgow for a conference, I managed to escape for a few minutes to go to @waterstones.bsky.social at Byres Road to get @andreawulf.bsky.social 's new book!😍😍
Hello, Yesterday I presented my postdoc work at SynSci — Synergy for Science 2026 in Glasgow, in a humongous screen. A perfect platform for my last dance as a Traction Force Microscopy person 💜

I am super happy to say that @fwovlaanderen.bsky.social will fund my next 3 years of research as a senior postdoc!! I will be moving to @steinaerts.bsky.social lab. I'm very excited for this new adventure! I'll start on October 1st!😍
All you ever wanted to know about how to analyse the nematic nature of cellular tissues is right here 👀👇🏼! Bonus #1: we did it for many cell types and uncovered unexpected defect behavior 🐌 Bonus #2: for theoreticians looking for parameter values for your simulation🧑🏼💻 tinyurl.com/2s399yen
Just published in @science.org 🚀 By controlling how cells align, we show that living nematic tissues can be programmed to generate forces and fold into predictable 3D shapes. A new platform for tissue engineering and the design of smart active materials! www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
