One of these is an oversized, elitist mobility vehicle. The other is an e-cargo bike. One tears up our local infrastructure and is a threat to people outside of it. The other weaves into the urban fabric, accomplishing a lot and asks for very little.
As we celebrate the Green Line Extension today, let us not loose sight of the real prize.
⏰The clock is ticking. @governorwalz.mn.gov: Fund the Blue Line Extension! We all need safe, efficient ways to get where we need to go. Southwest got the Green Line. Northside shouldn't get left behind.🚉
@metrotransitmn.bsky.social’s Renew the Blue was needed and well executed, except for this. Please fix before the snow falls and it gets a lot worse. Reported to 311.
The mayor got his start serving on CLIC. I know. I was on CLIC at the time. It was a while ago. This is mayoral overreach. Of an (albeit influential) advisory committee FFS.

My argument is simple; our parks are worth it. In the last few years our park levy has been consistently under what we need to fully function. This led to rec center cuts. We are facing cuts again, while the city has been far less fiscally prudent. Gift link: www.startribune.com/mpls-green-s...

Take the bus once a week to work; bike/walk to something that’s not too far away; it doesn’t have to be all or nothing! Small changes at scale have a big impact!
The key thing here is *certain* trips. You don't have to suddenly go car-free! But even replacing a handful of weekly car trips with a bike can lead to savings. Car dependency is a systemic problem, but at the same time, many people are in a position to make changes like this.
This is along several of our @sierraclub.org staff and volunteers’ bike commute. Safer streets for all. Love to see it.

Your regular reminder that crashes ≠ accidents. We owe it to the victims of traffic violence to acknowledge that their injuries and deaths are the result of a transportation system that tolerates dozens of serious crashes each day.
