okay so you’re telling me that the extremely culturally pervasive myth that celery has “negative calories” originates from fucking FABLE????? 🫪 thats absolutely batshit and somehow also makes complete sense with where we’re at

I absolutely love Blender, but I swear, 3d folks seem allergic to it. In my entire life and 15+ years in gamedev, I have literally only met two skilled professionals that used Blender. Everyone else is, apparently, paying adobe tons of money for the privilege to not use it. So weird.

"game devs are way too inspired by other games these days" No, this isn't actually the problem. The issue is that (some) game devs either don't know how to improve on what has come before or don't want to. Many developers don't actually know what "good" is & we see it everyday on Reddit/YouTube

It's a minor complaint, but it kind of bugs me when games have gigantic monstrous humanoids that speak and sound exactly like humans. Slap a filter on the voice, make it really reverberate through that four foot tall neck.

Quick quesition- If you make art for video games (AAA, indie, hobby, or whatever), how comfortable are you with source control like Perforce, Plastic, or Git? What parts scare or confuse you? Also, if you do other things besides art, but source control is still scary, your feedback also welcome!

Most folks can tell when something is made with AI. AI disclosures matter, so we don't have to spend mental energy playing detective on everything. Folks against AI disclosures have one goal- trying to trick people into buying something they don't want to support.
