TONIGHT: we are in the home stretch for 2026 primaries, y’all. Today I’m mostly watching Michigan. A dramatic US Senate race is dominating headlines, but I’m looking at State House/Senate turnout and what it tells us about chamber flips in November.

Finally got around to reading @climatecabineteducation.org's "Taming Data Center Turmoil" report that came out last month. This is one of, if not the, clearest and most practical guides to state and local policymaking around data center energy use.

AZ Primaries: On the Democratic side of the Arizona Corporation Commission, candidates Clara Pratte and Jonathon Hill will advance to make the November ballot. In 2024, Jonathon ran, but fell 1.6% short of winning (about 140,000 votes).

Election night 2026: On the Arizona Corporation Commission, incumbent Nick Myers is not in great shape to win re-election. With 4,000 votes in between him and Heap, interesting to see how the last 25% of votes come in.

It's primary night in Arizona! It's late in the year (just a few states left), but big results tonight for Governor, Attorney General, and ACC will set the stakes for the election in November. Many GOP contested primaries with moderate vs. MAGA candidates.

We just took a brief break and we’re back, and look what dropped: Wisconsin Gov. Evers is officially pushing forward with an expansion of the Amtrak Hiawatha from Milwaukee to Madison. This train was supposed to be running when I was a junior at UW-Madison in 2009… spectrumnews1.com/wi/madison/n...

Bing! Bing! Bing! We have a state capacity comment! One of the challenges states like Wisconsin has faced is not being prepared for resources as they come. States across the USA desperately need to build state capacity to develop transit and passenger rail systems.

Amidst a housing crisis and skyrocketing costs, we are creating the first City-backed program to reduce insurance costs for affordable and rent-stabilized housing. Housing providers will get support to improve housing while maintaining affordability. www.thecityreporter.nyc/2026/06/24/p...

This also means that the GOP has still not flipped any legislative seat anywhere in the country since the fall of 2024. Dems have flipped roughly 30 in that period.
