So when Putin is left with no more money to keep the war going, and a million angry soldiers wondering what the hell they’ve been doing, with no jobs, where does he put them? He never had the industries to absorb them back at work… those industries are gone! All that’s left is making drones.

But worse than that, he has now burned down much of what he DID allow, & now his economy is circling the drain as it has fully flipped to war. All wealth gets sucked into the disaster that is the war on Ukraine. Russian money disappears the same way their troops are. Blown up & forgotten.

Putin already had a limited economy with no real width, due to his autocratic nature. He didn’t want businesses that could leave Russia. He only ever supported ones that relied on the good graces of the state to survive. That is part of why Russia’s GDP is so tiny for its size.
