I kid you not, @itch.io has been taken down by Funko of "Funko Pop" because they use some trash "AI Powered" Brand Protection Software called Brand Shield that created some bogus Phishing report to our registrar, iwantmyname, who ignored our response and just disabled the domain

I talk quite openly about how bad it was for me with this industry simply cos saying nothing will not help. Openly showing others support matters always cos many don’t get it ever and I never got much my first decade. This is why I don’t shut up about getting others to give it while they can.

I spent the first decade of my time in games with zero support while dealing with bullying from leadership and some threats from coworkers and hardly any friends with in the teams I was in. This industry can be hostile and isolating for many and that big of kindness out here can make the difference

My pet peeve is that when one want to study a VFX from a reference but focus too much on the character/camera animation and not the VFX itself. Just use plain sphere as a stand in! I want to see clear VFX and see if the fundamentals are there, not an animated short!

Its been fun sharing some of the #GameDev #VFX work that I have worked on recently, so here is a selection from Starship Home which I did earlier this year. All made using Unity, Amplify #shader editor & Quixel mixer. (I'm on the look out for work too so DM if you might need something soon)

Kinda want to toot my own horn a bit but I'm SO happy the 'are you really good enough' part of my particular kind of Imposter Syndrome has been in regression to the point I don't have the thought anymore. It's nice to keep myself busy with what I CAN and not what I cannot.

Honestly? tinkering with World Editor trying to create a DotA clone baaaaaaaaaaack during Warcraft 3 days. The map is lost, but the knowledge of logic (to create custom skills lol) stays and I am forever grateful.

What got you into #gamedev? Creating maps and modding Age of Empires 25 years ago, when I was 7 or 8. Kinda struck gold, since that got me into making new Age games and DLC professionaly for over 10 years now and tought me the tools to create my own indie game.
