Hey comics people, The Dark Horse union needs your support right now. Senior editors do more work than most of you can possibly imagine and they deserve to be apart of the union. Some of them have been waiting a long time for this. Stand with them! Please sign and share this petition!

Years ago I wrote a video essay about post-9/11 superhero movies and how the American population's growing comfort with mass surveillance was mirrored in our "heroes" and reinforced a corrosive ideology that we can't reckon with. Might need to rework that one of these days

grimly funny that in The Dark Knight, Batman’s city-wide surveillance is the moral crucible, the point at which he has clearly gone too far, while in Brand New Day it’s just something that Spider-Man does.

Someone should make a Top 100 Darkest Movies of all Time but AVP: Requiem is at the top because its 100 movies with the worst night time lighting and its literally too dark too see anything

On the one hand, i appreciate The Devil Wears Prada 2 wanting to comment on the deterioration of the current media and journalism landscape. On the other hand, can't say I find much horror in "and the rich people can't fly first class anymore!"

Spider-Man: Brand New Day More on this tomorrow but everything I hate about superhero movies is still here and still holding this thing back. But at least its got some heart
