Some days I think maybe I’m not actually autistic, but then last night my husband had to give me instructions on how to make mashed potatoes because it had been too long and my brain had dumped the info. Also I had too many arm feels this morning because it’s loud in here.

I would just like to say, for the record, that as I’m showing signs of fatty liver and need to lose weight, I’ve gone off pop entirely for two days now, which is also happening at the same time I’ve cut out most of the sweets in my diet. I hate life right now SO MUCH.

Okay, so when I was a kid, my grandmother had a whole bunch of the cup cozies, for lack of a better term, and my mom requested some new ones when her inherited ones started giving out. So for today’s grandmacore crafting moment, I bring you crochet cotton cup cozies.

Brown, tan, and cream colored yarn in a crocheted tube with a bottom. The same tube on a plastic water tumbler.

Going through boxes left from my MiL’s storage space, and she saved EVERYTHING, which means that there’s so many newspapers, programs, ephemera, graduation cards, postcards, etc. We’re not going to keep all of it — if you have any interest in a small trove of 1960’s greeting cards, etc. let me know.

Lindsey Graham was a terrible human being, and by that I mean he was terrible at being a human being. There were occasionally some faint fucking glimmers of a worthwhile person that got obliterated by his desire for power. I think he just really wanted to feel safe, and that’s the saddest thing.

My July 4th story is that we got back from our road trip vacation yesterday evening and proceeded to be loved on by our dogs and greeted by the stepkid, who was grateful to be relieved of dog-watching duties (and, you know, happy to see us too).

In Las Vegas. It has been a series of ups and downs and feeling veguely dissatisfied with my surroundings, but two things that were awesome today were the Mob Museum and Zombie Burlesque. Hot damn. Watch out for Mikey, he’ll eat anything.

I am on a road trip at the moment in Salt Lake City, headed eventually to LA, and I would like to say that I just had a freaking amazing meal here thanks to Felt Bar and Eatery — holy cats, so good. I feel like Violet Beuregard after she chews the forbidden gum. Roll me home, Oompaloompas.

Okay, so time for a timeline cleanse. What’s your favorite classical/instrumental music to put on in the background while you do stuff (like grade or read) where lyrics aren’t really wanted? Looking to broaden my playlists and try some new stuff this summer.

I deeply, deeply hate traumaversaries. I’m like, why do I feel like everything and everyone hates me today and I suck? And then I look at the calendar, and what do you know, it’s the date of a stupid fight with my ex that changed everything. That was twenty years ago, brain! Seriously. Let it go.

I was already looking at ditching Canvas for my classes next semester given potential privacy issues, and now... argh. That being said, changing up plans on a stressed autistic teacher less than 48 hrs before grades are due results in unfortunate stress hives popping up. I'm gonna bake some cookies.

Canvas is down, ye say? Aye lad hearken to me and I'll tell thee of a time when a man might say canvas was down! When the leviathan booms his bulk upon ye an' thy splintered masts surrender their sails to the foaming, merciless drink!! then, lad, ye say might say with some authority that can (1/135)

My body seems to delight in not listening to me. Here is is, 2:30 in the morning. I've been trying to sleep since 11. I have now given that up and am going to teach my body an object lesson -- if you're going to refuse to sleep, you get to grade. We both have to suffer, but that's what you get.
