Maryland's digital advertising tax was struck down by MD Tax Court. It was a good concept but was deemed illegal because it was too narrowly targeted. This is a common problem with goldilocks revenue raisers that emerge from an inherently anti-tax politics. taxfoundation.org/blog/marylan...

This is an awful idea! I understand we’re facing major county cost pressures due to HR1, but cutting from our popular and heavily utilized library system to save 0.4% on the tax levy is bad strategy. Weakens a popular service and doesn’t nearly plug the hole. www.startribune.com/hennepin-cou...

Because it is my lot in life (and because I love Brad), I knock about 500 doors in Shakopee every election cycle. His annual sweet corn and BLT fundraiser is a good time, and this year I will be donating another classic from Dave the Pie Guy.

My beloved little campaign trailer was lifted off my bike in Standish (in broad daylight!) yesterday. Not a tragedy, but an excuse to post some pictures of the fond memories. She was a key part of the campaign 🫡🫡🫡

Extremely proud of my friend @aishaforward10.com for taking this step to prioritize her mental health. Aisha has given so much to all of us and deserves our full support as she takes time to heal. I know she will return an even stronger champion for the people of this city. We are with you, Aisha!

Like millions of Americans, I work to manage my mental health daily. I’ve long ignored my need for more help. That’s why I’m sharing some personal news. I’m taking a leave from the City for a month to get help at a rigorous outpatient program for clinical depression and anxiety.
