😤 It's Time To #MakePollutersPay 🤝 Join our Illinois Coalition and let's get the Climate Superfund Act passed! Big oil made the mess, big oil can clean it up.

Today we’re thinking about all of the laborers that help us prepare for and reckon with the Climate Crisis. Many of these workers put their lives on the line because of how we’ve treated the earth. Wildfire fighters, civic infrastructure workers, and engineers are climate heroes.

This ruling is a result of one court in one district and does not apply to our work in Illinois. We are undeterred in our mission to #MakePollutersPay and make our lives more affordable. @newyorkstateag.bsky.social should appeal this decision and work to have it reversed. This is far from over.

This decision was influenced by Big Oil. We call on @newyorkstateag.bsky.social to immediately appeal the decision striking down New York’s Climate Superfund Law and defend the state’s ability to make polluters pay.

There are catastrophes everywhere. Nepal, Canada, Illinois. Climate change has no borders. We can prepare for these disasters before they happen at no expense to the taxpayers. The solution? Making polluters pay. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/27/c...

This is not normal. Man-made climate change has caused tornado alley to shift east, right in the path of Illinois homeowners. We can hold the corporate polluters responsible for this pollution accountable with #MakePollutersPay , and help Illinoisans in the process.

Illinois just went through it's most chaotic June on record, with over 170 tornadoes recorded before July 1st. Now Chicago is poised to have a historic heat wave this week. It's no coincidence: the climate crisis is here. Big oil and other corporate polluters have made this summer a brutal one.

As fossil-fueled climate change makes heatwaves more frequent and deadly, I wonder how air conditioning will evolve in cultures that have historically disliked it. I hope many heat pumps installed to decrease pollution and costs from space heating will be two-way, so folks have AC just in case.
