Illinois just went through it's most chaotic June on record, with over 170 tornadoes recorded before July 1st. Now Chicago is poised to have a historic heat wave this week. It's no coincidence: the climate crisis is here. Big oil and other corporate polluters have made this summer a brutal one.

As fossil-fueled climate change makes heatwaves more frequent and deadly, I wonder how air conditioning will evolve in cultures that have historically disliked it. I hope many heat pumps installed to decrease pollution and costs from space heating will be two-way, so folks have AC just in case.
