I finally finished it. I was folding stars for this for six months and stringing them for ten hours. There are almost a thousand stars. I am so proud of it and also my hands are now ground beef.

A trans pride flag (five stripes of pastel pink and blue) made of nearly 1000 individual origami puffy stars. Every fourth star has a floral print. At the end of each individual string of stars (there are 25, forming five stripes) hangs a plastic pearl bead and an empty vial of testosterone. instead of trying to keep up with every single Bad event (guaranteed burnout), focus on a few things, with most of your efforts/resources going into these instead there is a difference between staying aware, but doing what you can WHERE and WHEN you can, vs unproductive mental paralysis (+)

reminder that history has always been multiple events happening concurrently, but humans having the ability to see these events unfold in practically live-time is VERY new because of the internet. we were not built to handle this level of constant stress. 🧶(+)

Refusing to engage in your life and the decisions to make it your own isn't a cute quirky "ooh I'm such a bottom come fix me" personality trait, it's a trauma reaction and it is something that you can heal.

Discomfort is a necessary part of growth. If you build your life around avoiding all friction then you are also setting yourself up for stagnancy. Being willing to learn and change and become requires learning that you can survive things that are difficult and at times uncomfortable

If you’re living with tricky mental health, chronic illness, not good thought pathways caused by others’ behaviour, a trickily wired brain, you’re worried about climate change or you’re just feeling shite today, then hi, me too. This photo’s for your brain-a miniature posy from my garden in a thimble:

A post of tiny flowers from my garden in a thimble

'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)

An embroidery hoop containing a sewn landscape from above. It shows a forest on the right, a line of fire and charred ground with smoke on the left. The smoke is felted wool.

I'm down a rabbit hole on combination utensils. There's my beloved SPORK, but then we get into the much more exotic combos: This one's called a FORKCHOP, designed by Donald BonAsia in Los Angeles, available now through a variety of online retailers.

From the e-commerce site named after the river basin it's destroying, a red plastic device with chopsticks joined in the middle to a fork head pointing the other way.

(non aggressively) i think a lot of people accidentally psych themselves out when drawing/talking abt nonbinary people?? like either making them Totally Neutral or trying to combine both gender binaries.... but nonbinary can be anything if you open your heart
