Delighted to see our paper "Lines in the Landscape" published www.nature.com/articles/s43... Thanks to Dr. Mike Peacock & Dr. Chelsea Clifford for organising a great workshop for ditch "experts" a few years ago in Liverpool. The paper highlights the importance of ditches in our landscapes.

Planting trees on peatlands leads to more GHG emissions then those trees sequester. 30cm of peat stores up to 327 tonnes of carbon per ha. Forestry = 145 T Ca per Ha. It does not make sense to plant trees on peatland as a climate change solution.
