Q10: The folks at Flight 93 NHS were kind enough to host #ParkChat multiple years during their busiest week. Have you been more inspired by these chats to visit their or any Memorials & Monuments in the NPS system, or more local ones? @59NationalParks @naturetechfam #ParkChat

Q8: The Flight 93 NMEM was an example of how memorials can be created by a diverse group of stakeholders through forming of a memorial “community” or partnership. Given this background, what role should memorials play in “community.” @59NationalParks @naturetechfam #ParkChat

Q5: Events of September 11, 2001 and others can and have shaped our perspectives on how we value and recognize life and death. What similarities or differences in memorial building do you see today compared to 100 years or longer? @59NationalParks @naturetechfam #ParkChat

Q4. Think of our more scenic National Parks. Describe any site(s) you’ve visited that cause you similar reflection as perhaps you feel at a National Monument or Memorial. @59NationalParks @naturetechfam #ParkChat

I like that CA State Parks have amended their reservations to try to prevent no-shows and last minute cancellations that make it impossible for others to enjoy their parks. I wonder about that 3 no-shows rule, and how it will be enforced. #ParkChat www.kqed.org/news/1209781...

Q11 #parkchat Through art our senses are awakened & our spirits are captivated. Artists help us appreciate our parklands & can help motivate us to preserve & protect these places for future generations. “EARTH without ART is just EH”. How can we better support/promote the arts in our parklands?

I recently finished 3 weeks of residency as an “Inspired by Yellowstone” artist in Yellowstone Nat’l Park. The experience was an eye-opener for sure. Please join me on 8/26 for “EARTH without ART is just EH”, a #parkchat focused on the relationship between arts & artists in our beloved parklands.
