Massive thanks to the NHS who are doing a great job with dad now off oxygen (best Christmas present ever) and on Parry ward named after Bath Physician Caleb Parry who wrote about Graves’ disease before Graves did (some countries call it Parry’s disease). Very pleasing for a thyroid geek like myself

Painting by John Atkinson Grimshaw. Seems appropriate for this time of year and my current mood (writing research grant and let’s face it Man City and Jaguar have not brought me much cheer this week). Beautiful but haunting
I will not hide my inner convictions anymore. Be the change you want to see in the world ! #AcademicSky 🧪

Sorry to bring misery and despair to this lovely social media network JAGUAR what on earth have you done! Your core marker is the loveable rogue. Grace to get away with things, space to carry all the "borrowed" cutlery and oil paintings, and pace to leg it. Your new vibe feels very alien.

Thread for those new to BlueSky. First of all, welcome. It feels like a safer space, doesn’t it? But also perhaps a bit disorienting initially? Here’s some tips for getting your bearings.
You could never organise a peaceful revolution on Twitter as it currently stands. The algorithm would defeat it. But BlueSky? That's another story. It's the perfect place for like-minded people to gather and reinforce each other. Rejoin, anyone?

Lots of learning points here on SGLT2 inhibitor-associated ketoacidosis! • withhold SGLT2 inhibitors for 72 h before elective surgery to allow 5 half-lives to elapse • SGLT2 inhibitors should be resumed after full oral diet and in the absence of ketosis #AnSky #MedSky https://buff.ly/3O6qa2C
