Victor’s right. If we take him seriously (we should) gta reckon w fact that every uni that sheds DEI and says “time to double down on academic excellence” (👋 Ivies) is saying a university can be segregated and be excellent. That’s no less racist than Trump. bsky.app/profile/vict...

When, in January 2025, I wrote that the Trump administration was segregationist folks said I was exaggerating. I would have *loved* to be wrong about this but the unfortunate evidence remains on my side. This is just racism, pure and simple.

This article succeeds where most on the same topic fail (most notably Heller's infamous New Yorker piece on the 'end of the English major') bc it shows the relationship between 'declining majors' and 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤, 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 defunding and disinvestment in programs administrators want to diminish or end.

Yale’s Office of Public Affairs banned reporters from Yale’s campus today. It’s corroborated by Francie Diep in her story for the @chronicle.com. This was an attempt to squelch press coverage today of the rally protesting Yale’s attacks on freedom of expression, their pending deal with Trump. 1/

While I'm excited to be hiring, its also crazy that campus administration has mandated we: 1) significantly narrow language about being an equal opportunity employer 2) add in a *required* statement that we may use AI in the candidate review process. sigh....

I’m sure most of you aren’t watching the US Open right now which means you missed this instantly iconic moment, now available in gif form

higher education is the LARGEST employer in 20 states and in 60 of the 100 top cities; when the regime attacks students and faculty it is sabotaging local economies, local restaurants, local services, local real estate.

"A projected 111,000 fewer international students are expected in the U.S. this fall — a more than 9% drop in enrollment. A coalition of higher education organizations (AND UNIONS) sued the Department of Homeland Security to prevent the rule from taking effect." www.wuky.org/wuky-news/20...

U.S. colleges, universities brace for loss of international students

The Trump administration is capping the length of time international students can legally remain in the U.S., and declines in their enrollment could spell disaster for colleges and universities.
