We need to move away from a definition of pro scouting that is “guy in a car for 180 days a year spending six hours at the park six days a week.” Most teams already have, and as someone who has driven twelve hours for rookie-ball live looks. I am acutely aware of the strengths and weaknesses.
I watch all levels and varieties of baseball because it’s my job, but I cannot imagine a person who watches Robbie Ray pitch for fun.
