7 out of Eddie's top 25 #FilmNoir I haven't seen. Hoping @eddiemuller.bsky.social will show these, some may be in public domain... I DO have a list of over 200 I've seen! Which is your fave? #NightmareAlley #Moonrise #ForceofEvil #CrissCross #ThievesHighway #NightandtheCity #TheProwler #tcmparty
If you look closely, the pattern is rows of light blue birds sitting on wires on a dark blue background—tribute to Hitchcock or Leonard Cohen, take your pick. #TCM #NoirAlley #TCMParty
I don’t know about #HisKindOfWoman, but this IS my kinda tie! Looking at you @eddiemuller.bsky.social #TCMParty
I’m hosting opening night of NOIR CITY: HOLLYWOOD tonight but if you can’t make it, here’s 90-some minutes of noir talk to tide you over.

All credit to our brilliant DP Alden Allen; She conceived and created this new angle and devised the color scheme. FYI, there is no magenta and blue wall back there, that’s all a magic trick.
I know Doris Day is @eddiemuller.bsky.social’s sweetie do it’s fun to see him in another part of BAR 355 to introduce her movies. #TCMParty
The kids are alright. And if you scan the walls of this classroom you know that Mr. Carton is the coolest teacher they’ve ever had. @tcmtv.bsky.social @noirfoundation.bsky.social
You know it’s a great day when the Czar @eddiemuller.bsky.social comes by to talk with students about noir & film & being able to do what you love in life. And to end with a story about Ann Savage, too - icing on the cake! I really do love teaching. Thanks, Eddie!
Can’t wait for this new release. Happy to have played a part in it. #noircity #NoirAlley #TCM #filmnoir
We feel fortunate to have a new written introduction from the legendary @eddiemuller.bsky.social the czar himself. We pulled out all the stops. I wrote about our B feature, Robert Florey’s The Crooked Way, and I have a video essay about the crew of The Big Combo.
I love the ending with Pila retelling the tale without subtitles. #FilmNoirClub
Absolutely my pleasure! Is it wrong to say I love Wanda/Pila? #FilmNoirClub

Begs the question: would a male producer have allowed to leading man to be this inept and beaten-down? Pila is ten times tougher. #FilmNoirClub
I actually find he’s most convincing once he’s wounded, like his injury prompts a slow rebirth, perhaps back to the man he was. #FilmNoirClub #RideThePinkHorse
GREAT PHOTO! I love Joan’s outfit. Gotta like a producer who dresses appropriately for the movie she’s making! #FilmNoirClub
Fun behind-the-scenes picture for RIDE THE PINK HORSE that I found in an issue of Screenland: Thomas Gomez, producer Joan Harrison, and Wanda Hendrix celebrate Robert Montgomery's birthday on set. #FilmNoirClub
The lighting in the wide establishing shots is exceptional. I’ve known a lot people who saw this movie as kids and had it stick in their memory. I give Russ Metty much of the credit for that. #FilmNoirClub
I love how the scene with the now wounded Gagin wandering into the bus stop, looking for the La Fonda Hotel, parallels the brighter daylight version. The first time: All stoicism and a plan. This time: Darkness and desperation. #FilmNoirClub
I’m showing it several times in theaters, but never this gorgeous digitally restored version. #FilmNoirClub
It seems paradoxical to say that the violence and treachery in #RideThePinkHorse is hauntingly beautiful, but it is. I'm mesmerized by Metty's work. I'd love to see it in the theater. #FilmNoirClub
There was a version called THE HANGED MAN, made in 1964 by Don Siegel and starring Robert Culp. I haven’t seen it! #FilmNoirClub
And so different from what the novel is about. Eddie, you mentioned that there were calls for a remake. Wasn’t there something tried in the 1960s? Transplanted to New Orleans? #FilmNoirClub
I have never seen another Montgomery directed film that looks as good as this. #FilmNoirClub
Eddie, do you think we are looking at Russell Metty's work solely, or is there any influence from Robert Montgomery? #FilmNoirClub
No kidding. It’s actually what this film is all about. #FilmNoirClub
It’s uniqueness. I like the way it delves into the clash of cultures so insightfully and as it goes along our allegiance shifts to the locals, especially Pila. #FilmNoirClub
Eddie, what is your favourite thing about this film? A particular performance, the script, the cinematography, etc? #FilmNoirClub
Also delivered by Richard Widmark in PICKUP ON SOUTH STREET. #FilmNoirClub
"Don't wave the flag at me. I've seen enough flags!" Although noir often gets reduced to "tropes" in pop culture, lines like this reveal that these films deal with many complex issues. #FilmNoirClub #RideThePinkHorse
