I can’t recommend yell asking your friends “Hey, how do you feel about THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES?” enough. I got to do it at the bar at the Golden Steer last night, and that’s the top place so far.

I am urging liberals to please fucking stop using AI to make political images. I know you don't actually care, but it is a fascist tool that only serves to benefit fascism.
I just had to explain that there wasn’t an “on” feature on an Etch A Sketch to an 11-year-old

Louise Lasser has died. The actress, writer, performing arts teacher and director was best known for her Emmy award-nominated performance as the title character in the soap opera satire “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman”.
It was my great honor to contribute to this list of the Most American Movies for the 250th, with a few words on why my answer is and always will be NASHVILLE. Gift link:

I am a VERY newly annointed single mum and the circumstances leading to this newfound status have been really ugly - deeply unpleasant, upsetting and destabilising. If you've ever enjoyed my books, blu-ray work or horror documentaries, now is the time to help a sister out!
My 2026 has been a divorce-shaped Stygian nightmare of housing insecurity, drifting between Airbnbs, couchsurfing + housesitting. But the goddess just blessed me with my own tiny apartment! I need to move/furnish it for myself + kid almost from scratch: a humble call for help if you can to do so!
Spent a few miles at a preserve to get out of the house and hopefully out of my head for a while. Very good decision.
My sweet baby boy Squints had to be suddenly put down today. Only the grief feels real.
I walked everyone through some basic HTML during a Teams meeting, and now I'm being treated like a magician. Glad my misspent youth is finally coming in handy!
#Junesploitation Day 23: Exploitation Auteurs! I'm saluting THE René Cardona Jr. with Beaks the Band the Show the Movie.
My mom told me she used to get shit from boys for reading Fantastic Four at the malt shop because it had “a girl” in it. That was over 60 years ago.
Anyway, I see the Usual Suspects are absolutely dead-set on hating the new SUPERGIRL movie because, you know, "g-g-g-girls," so we're going to have a LAST JEDI situation where it's going to be difficult to offer up *actual* criticism without being conflated with the moronic ranting.
My Synapse sale order just shipped. I guess I can trudge on a little longer. (Please read this in the most Eeyore way possible, thanks.)
#Junesploitation Day 22: Revenge! DEATH FORCE is also known as "Vengeance Is Mine" & "Fighting Mad," so I knew it'd be the perfect pick. GREAT cast, and it has so much fun with the training/revenge tropes that it still, somehow, feels completely fresh. That ending, though? Excuse me.
Over on My @justthediscs.bsky.social Channel, I'm talking about a bunch of recent discs from WarnerArchive & a few from Sony: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mwpo...

As apolitical as my sm accounts tend to be, I talk so much shit about donald in person. My parents constantly complained about him to me when I was a kid in the 90s: I was born in this shit.
I genuinely enjoyed the immense amount of tonal whiplash my #Junesploitation 80s Sci-Fi choices gave me.
Here’s to a safe & happy Juneteenth & Black filmmaker-focused #Junesploitation! I started with a rewatch of Carl Franklin’s wonderful DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS, this time with his commentary, which I cannot recommend enough. I stuck with Franklin with ONE FALSE MOVE, which was harrowing and brilliant.

Day 18 of #Junesploitation is for Mr. Piercing Eyes himself, Franco Nero! I went with STREET LAW. It turned out to be a great choice, as Nero is pretty much put through the emotional Olympics in this film: He really gets to be vulnerable. Great ending, too.
Name a TV show you're positive no one remembers but you.

Day 17 of #Junesploitation is Hong Kong action, so I’m dipping into the new Jackie Chan set to check out THUNDERBOLT!
I’ve been running a fever and not sleeping. Thank you for your mercy, #Junesploitation free space day. These were all great whether I was in or out of a fugue state.
Happy #Junesploitation George Romero Day! I’m going to be indulging in some of his one-word titles today.
"And AI. I mean, he would be writing about AI right now, and thinking, danger! What the fuck are you doing, you people?" - Suzanne Romero reflects on her late husband's legacy in my new feature on Scream Factory's DAY OF THE DEAD 4K restoration. Out tomorrow!
