Going to spend a couple of hours this morning delivering hot drinks & meals to some un housed people by bike. That's how I'm going to show thanks for having the good fortune of a stable situation.

I think this is going to be very representative of this winter.
Flash floods hit northern Nepal on Sunday, sweeping away buildings and at least one bridge along the Budhi Gandaki River. The torrent comes just weeks after a devastating flood on the border with Tibet that killed more than a thousand people.
Large upload from Ontario yesterday, providing some striking revelations about the evolution of PJ.2.1. First, there is yet another strikingly divergent branch of PJ.2.1. This isn't one variant: it's four. More and more, this resembles the emergence of BA.1/2/3. What is happening? 1/
If public health and infection control leaders had any meaningful combination of competence and integrity we'd be seeing public education about the value of standards-compliant PPE (N95s) for protection against new variants, and its importance for avoiding long COVID. But they don't. So we aren't.

Should Danielle Smith be able to order your local council to vote to approve rezoning for a massive AI data centre? And threaten to fire your democratically elected mayor if they vote against it? This latest provincial overreach isn't about density. It's about your legal right to a fair hearing.
so, it's my bday. Supposed to be a day to celebrate the self, I'm trying to turn it on its head and suggest that others should support (financially, emotionally, physically) the organizations that I so deeply care about, trying to change the world for the better. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuHM...

Cold enough for me to do a dry run of my winter riding setup. Pogies are awesome, but in the wind they have enough wind resistance to ever so slightly press my brake levers. 🫠 I'm going to 3d print some shields.
I really feel like someone could offer a great class in coordinated rage farming operations that have kept Albertans befuddled for decades & this image would be a good part of it.

China’s electric truck boom is cutting diesel demand fast. 🚛⚡ E-truck sales jumped nearly 80% in the first half of 2026, helping shield the country from oil price shocks while lowering costs — and emissions. This shift is reshaping global oil demand. #EVs #EnergyTransition #EnergySky
Alberta's Energy Regulator only took 14 days to decide that it won't require an impact assessment for Suncor's plan to dump oilsands tailings into the Athabasca River endangering nearby/downstream communities & ecosytems. indigenousinsider.substack.com/p/sacrifice-... @brandimorin.bsky.social #ABLeg

Nooooo you're telling me that the UCP are selling lies again!! Couldn't be!🫠😂
It’s wild how much we’re all being manipulated to think the problem for everything is immigrants. It’s absolutely not! We hit the streets for an experiment. Watch the reactions and share the truth before we vote. Vote NO to the 9! And Option 1 (Remain) on Question 10. #abpoli #canpoli #ableg
"The rule of law is under vicious attack in this province and I am not the first, nor will I be the last, to call this out. When an institution is silent in the face of what is happening in this province, that silence is complicity." Another resignation at the Law Society.

We won’t stand by while Mark Carney launches the biggest attack on workers’ rights, Indigenous rights, and the environment that we've seen since the Harper era. Join our emergency town hall on October 14th, and let’s build the power to stop Bill C-39 together. RSVP here: www.ndp.ca/stop-bill-c39
So the worlds faith in the US currency is already on life support, but this kind of thing is going to kick into hyperdrive. Put sanctions on other countries for buying Putin fossil fuels & then doing exactly the thing you threaten they shouldn't.
BREAKING: The U.S. will obtain diesel from Russia, easing years of pressure on Moscow to curb prices ahead of the midterms, President Trump says.
Just to state the obvious here. ICC stands for international criminal court. This is their mission statement.
Counter point: Cycling activists wouldn't need public support if human life & safety weren't optional things that can be traded away for political points.
Cycling activists would get a ton more public support if they avoided framing debates over things like bike lanes like this. Emphasize SAFETY, yes. Bike lanes make cities better. They can even make DRIVING better, by reducing congestion. Invoking 'violence' in ways most people won't buy isn't it.
Public dollars shouldn't be used to prop up fossil fuel projects. Let markets manage risk. Governments should focus on creating the conditions for climate-competitive investments: ⚡ Clean electricity 🔌 Stronger grid connections ☀️ More renewable energy
Hmmmm soooo my household got all of their elections voter confirmations. The only problem is we've got one more than there are people that can vote. Don't have the warmest of fuzzies about this referendum.
This is going to make price & supply volatility extreme. None of this needed to happen. It's also going to take a while to recover from no matter what. Inventories act as a buffer, like a shock absorber. www.reuters.com/business/ene...

🤣 So one of the "separatists" in my neighborhood started out with a tiny sign in the back corner of their yard a few weeks ago. Then they moved it to the front. Now they've replaced it with a > meter by meter sign right at the edge of the sidewalk. 🤣🫠
