Analysis & commentary on UK law affecting trans people and their rights. Our work is unfortunately suspended at the moment. Deeply opposed to UKSC/FWS ruling of 16/4/25 & to its blatant exploitation to hurt trans people by the EHRC, the media & others.
TW. Needs to be widely shared with cisgender people, especially politicians. Utterly horrifying that Britain has come to this- that most of Britain is just looking the other way while a whole community is being eliminated from society because of lies and hatred. transactual.org.uk/wp-content/u...
Kent Police seem to be completely out of control here. These two officers are talking legal rubbish. Absolutely chilling.
Police in Canterbury today informed a protestor that the phrase "Israel is committing genocide in Gaza" could be considered a declaration of support for Palestine Action and therefore a terrorism offence.
The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Michael O’Flaherty, conducted a visit to the United Kingdom from 30 June to 4 July 2025, and a report was released today, including his thoughts on the state of trans rights in the UK at the moment. Read more here: www.coe.int/en/web/commi...
Right, the EHRC 'consultation' (in English) just closed. Well done to everyone who sent something. It's all going to be down to Starmer soon, as this piece discusses. It would be good to be in the hands of someone who reacted even remotely like a Labour Prime Minister?
An important piece from The Lemkin Institute.
Well done, @humanrightsvicky.bsky.social. 👏 Yet another human rights organisation #TheLemkinInstitute calls out the UK on trans and intersex rights following the Supreme Court ruling. www.lemkininstitute.com/red-flag-ale... They join: ILGA-Europe Human Rights Watch 18 UN Independent HR Experts
“Transphobia is not f**cking feminist” Kate Nash's powerful speech during her performance at Glastonbury.
Although I didn’t get to speak to my MP or a member of the HOL I was glad to be part of this momentous occasion. I spoke to lots of passionate, caring, interesting people. Big shout out to all parents there, with, or on behalf of, their trans children. We need a fair future for all trans people.
Lots of coverage of our amazing lobby. Thank you to everyone who was willing to speak about this historic moment. Click to see the video in full.

Finally built up the strength to tackle the EHRC consultation this weekend? You’ll find material on how wrong it is in law here. Why not add some of this to your own personal take? The mass lobby of Parliament showed what this community & allies are capable of. Let’s kill these EHRC proposals.
www.translegalproject.org/post/the-ris... 1/3 Our thoughts on engaging with the EHRC through their current consultation. We have submitted our response - and you can access it (and use it if helpful) here. TLDR? Their interpretation of the For Women Scotland ruling is constantly wrong...(cont...)
Real dark stuff going on in Hungary as the gov bans Pride and then organises a far right hate march on the same place and day as Pride was scheduled I know a lot of people are going in defiance. Please stay safe LGBT rights is one of THE frontlines against fascism today telex.hu/belfold/2025...

A Pride szervezői is ide jelentették be a gyülekezőt szombat délutánra, a két gyűlés több ponton is keresztezheti majd egymást.

This is absolutely worth sharing - a clear expose of Sex Matters, their views, aims and influence.
✍️ Behind the ruling: how ‘Sex Matters’ is shaping UK policy on trans rights The UK Supreme Court ruling redefined ‘sex’ – but for trans people, it’s the start of something far more sweeping and exclusionary By ST Williams
Thanks to everyone who came to the mass lobby organised by @transsolidarity.bsky.social, calling on MPs to oppose the EHRC’s harmful draft guidance. If you missed it, don’t worry, you can still speak with your MP about trans rights - just send them an email requesting a meeting.
@alicemydaughter.bsky.social doing Alice - and us all - proud.
On way home from @transsolidarity.bsky.social mass lobby in Westminster. Queued 4 hours with my husband, Alice’s dad, to green card my MP, who we knew was unavailable , but waited 90minutes in case a member of her team would come and talk to us. My message: keep the gender police out of our toilets.
MPs publicly call out and criticise JK Rowling in Parliament. I think this might be a first? That is now in the Hansard record for all time. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwBm...
Someone really really needs to get into the Courts on this. Our view is that the UK Parliament hasn't a prayer on defending its actions. Even in the face of the most transphobic judiciary in 50 years. Helpful if an individual might be able to take it forward?
I was at Parliament today lobbying my MP. THIS is what the ladies toilets look like by Westminster Hall… Notice the full floor to ceiling individual cubicle doors… Note how everyone has ‘dignity and privacy’ without the need to ban trans women! #UniteForTransRights
HUGE turn out of trans folks and allies for the lobby of Parliament led by @transsolidarity.bsky.social Incredible to see 🏳️⚧️
1/2 As people gather at Parliament today to meet MPs & oppose the EHRC’s extremist interpretation of a terrible, prejudiced, judgment - consider this. If a trans woman VISITS Parliament she will be instructed that she cannot use the women’s toilet. If she WORKS there she will be told that she can.
Just to say, in our view what Parliament is doing is clearly unlawful discrimination. Thread below ⬇️
1/11 We're see people asking if, post the Supreme Court/FWS case, a blanket toilet ban on trans people is lawful? In our very strong view, almost certainly no it is not.
Please repost widely and remember this is not about compliance in advance, there will doubtless be plenty of opportunities to use the correct loos in an organized and safe way tomorrow (and to report having done so). This is about avoiding violence and ensuing media propaganda.
PROVOKE AND PUBLICISE Tomorrow in the Houses of Parliament the transphobes will attempt a “Provoke & Publicise” action. Provoke and Publicise was originally developed as a tactic by racist segregationists in US states like Alabama & Oklahoma to try and stop the civil rights movement there… 1/7
🧵 Last week, Robin White, a barrister and trans woman, was harassed for using the women’s toilets in the Parliament. Today, Parliament has implemented a trans bathroom ban, telling trans people that they are no longer be allowed to use toilets which align with their lived gender.
NEW: We’ve uncovered how the EHRC met behind closed doors twice with anti-trans group Sex Matters to discuss rolling back trans rights. What they said will alarm you. 1/6 tacc.org.uk/2025/06/23/h...

The meeting between the EHRC and Sex Matters shows a human rights body quietly aligning with those seeking to remove rights from a vulnerable minority.

Anyone who advocates taking photos of women in ladies toilets without their consent has no right to describe themselves as “feminist” or as caring about women’s safety.
The BBC uncritically platforms Sex Matters, misrepresents the Supreme Court ruling, and excludes trans voices entirely. This isn’t journalism, it’s bias. We've filed a complaint. The BBC must do better. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
