there is no such thing as "age verification." All "age verification" is actually "identity verification." You can coat it in glitter and "privacy-preserving" wrapping paper. But in the end, mandating age verification means mandating surveillance be built into software and hardware. Period.
DRM is bad and should be illegal. Companies have told us for decades now that you're "buying" content but actually creating a lease, instead.

What is insane is that I can say that I witnessed these developments on the tail end of my own young adulthood. I witnessed the final “enclosure” of the youth commons as I walked across the finish line. It is fucking insane how much more life has been locked down for children! It is sickening! Evil!
