One trick to start DMing is to write a dungeon yourself. Because you will understand this adventure inside and out, matching a rule/ruling to any situation at hand will be much easier. Because a dungeon is essentially a vault of gold, you're challenging the players to rob it. People get this! ๐

Good advice here!๐ From a BX/OSE perspective I say do 6-room nodes: 1-2 monster (50% chance treasure) 3 Trap (30% chance treasure) 4-5 Empty (15% chance treasure, hidden) 6 Weird Falls right in-line with ye olde stocking procedures. Donโt even roll for treasure, place it since itโs guarded/hidden

Post your dungeon patches on your blog so your friends can use them. Take dungeon patches from your friend's blogs. Make your megadungeons like a quilt.
Oh this is pretty cool! Another great way to use equipment slots in a way that matters!

I used a simple DEX check for years but I've been liking this rule way more as it frontloads encumbrance as make or break in dicey situations. Allowing PCs to shed their equipment like loot pinatas to escape is a good tradeoff

For example, I'm doing 2d6 starting equipment by class + d66 trinket table corresponding to the characters home region. I normally find writing tables all but impossible. But I have some advice from some tricks I started using to help. 1/7

If you like using miniatures but donโt want to paint them, itโs amazing how well even quick zenithal priming (two rattle cans of โซ๏ธโช๏ธ) will give โem some pop- and if you do want to start paining everything is primed for it!
