Medium format, fuck yeah! I just developed my first roll of 120 ever and the results look hella promising. I really need this to hurry up and dry so I can start scanning. The film stock is Ilford HP5+ 400.

A portion of 120 film hung to dry.

Claire and I have been artistically collaborating for eight years as of last week. I always feel like I am cheating on her hair color when I shoot her in b&w, because the red tresses are just so gorge! Taken with my OM2n + 85 mm f/2 on, let’s say Kodak Gold 200.

Color photo of a red haired woman in a white tank top captured on film. She is staring straight into the camera and the late day sun is lighting up her hair.

One day I’ll remember to jot down the camera and lens I used, but today is not that day! So I’m going to go with: Nikon FM2 and 35mm f/2.8 (they were in my bag). The film is Kentmere 200.

Black and white photo of a women in the forest. She’s wearing a flannel shirt and looking up and to the right of the photographer. It looks like an indie album cover.

I developed film at home for the first time since the late 1980s today! The roll on the left is Tri-X; on the right is CineStill BwXX. Both were developed in CineStill DF96. The hardest part wasn’t developing, it was using a changing bag and getting film on the reels for the first time in 37 years.

I think one of the hangups around sex workers rights is that everyone else adjacent feels like it's an affront to center sex workers because other groups also suffer from similar problems But my point is- These are not mutually exclusive positions This is a time for solidarity, not division

Here’s the bottom line for what’s going on with Grok - if the owner of the website is putting his thumb on the scale hard enough for the chatbot to turn into Goebbels, you should be deeply concerned about what he’s doing to the algorithm that you can’t so easily see, and what it’s doing to you

I haven’t been loving my Sony A7R III since purchasing it and came thiiiiiis close to trading her in this weekend. It’s kinda heavy and full frame lenses exacerbate that problem. So today I got myself something light and svelte: the 40mm 2.5 G. Totally changes the handling for the better!

Photo of a Sony A7R III with a 40mm f/2.5 lens. It is my belated Christmas gift to myself and it makes for a hella light and portable setup.

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you? While there is a 100% chance of rescue, it is equally likely that you will be exposed to shenanigans that will make you wonder if you were safer with the kidnappers 😏

A still from the Strange New Worlds episode “The Elysian Kingdom” featuring the characters Ortega, M’Benga, and Pike.

This 2025 stop calling yourself a "content creator" You're an artist, graphic designer, a video editor, an entertainer, musician, a streamer, a cook, a craftsman, an animator, a storyteller, a writer, a painter, a woodworker, a tailor... You are not a faceless "content" machine.

The ground floor of the #LEGO Jazz Club is complete! I got this set for Christmas and as it is rainy today in the North Carolina Piedmont, I figured now is the best time to dive in. This set has three floors, but I’m calling it after one. The tips of my fingers are a little tender at the moment.

Last week, Megan and I went to Disney World to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. Not only that: we did so sans child! Which honestly was a very mixed bag. I enjoyed the freedom to move at the pace my 55-year-old frame was comfortable with, but I missed having her there almost every moment.
