We welcome the conclusion of the EU–Australia agreement 🇪🇺🇦🇺 In a changing world, diversifying and strengthening supply chains is essential. This deal helps open markets with reliable, like-minded partners and reinforces our shared commitment to economic security and the rules-based order.

We’ve said it from the start: D. Trump’s tariffs are illegal under US law and WTO rules! Good to see the US Supreme Court ruled the same way. We welcome this decision. We need now to assess what this means for EU business and workers, who deserve legal certainty and protection.

Freedom of speech under #Trump? Threatening a democratically elected politician with diplomatic sanctions for saying something you don’t like. How the mighty have fallen. That’s not how we do things in Europe. Coercive messages targeting Belgian legislation & rule of law should stop immediately.

“We will run the country,” he said. “American companies will pump oil,” he said. That’s not heroic. It’s plain theft and unlawful. It’s a clear breach of international law. The future of Venezuela belongs to the people of Venezuela. And only to them.

This is not about the #Trump administration or American #BigTech. It is about the privacy, rights, wellbeing and freedom of expression of European citizens. We will defend Europe’s digital rulebook against political coercion from the United States. www.ft.com/content/001d...

Washington threatens European groups over EU’s treatment of US tech giants

French and German companies warned their access to the American market could be disrupted

The "reciprocal" clash of two giants bears bad news for the trade and the global economy. The European Union can lead a coalition of countries working together to soften the blow, protecting business, working people and families. In a world full of mad men, it pays of to be predictable and coherent.
