Check out this compact 920 nm ultrafast fs laser for 2p imaging of GCaMP, etc.. Mounted on its side like this, it takes up very little space on the table. That's the Axon 920, generously loaned to the course thanks to @ewadorotaz.bsky.social and others at Coherent. It's what we use on our own rigs.

At the CSHL course Imaging Structure & Function in the Nervous System, there was a Ventana system. It has a >9 mm^2 field-of-view with high resolution and so people are surprised that it’s so small! Here’s a size reference (12 oz can) for a sense of scale. More compact than most other 2-photon rigs.

Two-photon calcium imaging at 24,000 lines/s, with the resonant axis spanning 4x what other systems can do. Inertia-free. Diffraction-limited. No tradeoffs.
