New paper: Incoherence, referential and Fregean
I’m happy to report that my paper Incoherence, referential and Fregean has been accepted for publication in Synthese. You can download a preprint here. Structural irrationality, also known as incoherence, consists in the obtaining or failure to obtain of certain relations among the propositional contents of a subject’s attitudes. For instance, it is structurally irrational to believe in a proposition P and also believe its negation not-P.

Tim Bayne on the global workspace and AI consciousness theconversation.com/an-ai-lab-sa...
An AI lab says chatbots have what may be a key feature of consciousness. Are they right? And what now?
Anthropic says there is something lurking inside Claude that looks a lot like the ‘global workspace’ one influential theory of consciousness depends on.
