I think we'd see a lot more urgency about regulating AI in Silicon Valley if the AI agents suddenly developed a sense of restorative justice, and instead of them threatening humanity with total extinction, they just wanted to redistribute wealth and reverse power hierarchies.

Practical and playful - that's how I intended to write this piece on "Making Together" as a method. In it, I offer suggestions for researching sociotechnical objects and communities of practice by un/re/making things with others. Take a look at this excellent volume at kitsformethods.com.

Are you an anthropologist working in Latin American or the Caribbean? Or maybe you just want to know more about the region? Here's a starter pack of some of the members of SLACA (The Society for Latin American and Caribbean Anthropology): go.bsky.app/LGV4jHn

I started STS scholars (broadly construed) starter pack! It's VERY incomplete! I wasn’t sure if there was an easier way to do this than just going through my followers & adding people. Probably missed lots of folks! Please let me know who I missed or if you'd like to be added. go.bsky.app/H4NcX46

Please read and circulate this editorial by editors of the journal History and Technology, Amy Slaton and and Tiago Saraiva, which fully vindicates my STS (UCL) colleague Jenny Bulstrode and her paper 'Black metallurgists and the making of the industrial revolution' doi.org/10.1080/0734...
