Sorely tempted to do GOP side of MN primary ballot and push Lindell over the top. (On Dem side there were basically only two races in doubt and I didn't have strong feeling who won them)
If atproto can support interoperable group chat across multiple access providers we will have a solid win
What's up, chat! Group chats are rolling out today in the new v1.124 update. This is our first feature built for communities, and there's more to come.
Education is now the great divide in American society More than gender or race
Doing some extremely preliminary poking at the MI results and the biggest factor seems to be education (although MASSIVE caveat that country demographics dont always match primary electorate demographics!)
I remember considering the NYT to be a quality institution. Canceled 40y sub last Dec
thus do we understand half the reason for the NYT’s seething anti-Mamdani grudge
Lack of universities in Missouri?
Missouri elections be like: Hitler (R) 79% - Christ (D) 21% And then the ballot initiative: Amend the Missouri constitution to require the state to own the means of production and work towards full communism? Yes 92% - No 8%
This thread reminded me of one of the books that had a major influence on my life “Aerobics” by Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper 1968 Was about bike run swim for what we would consider modest amounts maybe three times a week
Re: aerobics and joint damage - is this something you read? I ran question by Opus and that statement is not supported. (I’m physician, have big arthritis, see rheum, run, do CrossFit squats etc) Current consensus is joints do best with exercise including running.
It's funny that Jeanine Pirro brought a box of evidence to WH to persuade Trump. He wants her to consciously *throw out* exculpatory facts and *knowingly* prosecute innocent people. So facts can't persuade him by definition. Me and @barbmcquade.bsky.social on this: newrepublic.com/article/2139...

What is truly "shocking" about the polling miss in Michigan is that it is completely average for a primary "The expected error on the margin between two primary candidates in a race for governor or U.S. Senate is a whopping 13.0 points." blog.fiftyplusone.news/p/2026-texas...
Do we really know who's leading the Texas Senate races?
Primary polls have historically been rather unreliable, and a surge in new primary voters means turnout assumptions matter more than usual

Polling is like really fucked. Strikes me as a huge problem honestly.
Like many physicians I’ve noted the similarities between long covid and TBI. Happy to see that’s in research literature. The atypical response to exercise (doesn’t help much) similar TBI, LC, and whatever we call CFS/fibromyalgia now …
Yes, the AIs were given a cybersecurity challenge, with internet access enabled and safety filters disabled But the extent to which Mythos 5 pursued its mission (fake identities, social engineering, inserting malicious code into a real open-source project) is notable www.aisi.gov.uk/blog/inciden...
One of the lesser takeaways of my African studies class was learning about the social construction of ethnicity in Africa.
there's a lot of people across the political spectrum who simply cannot process the fact that ethnicity is a social construct, that many ethnicities did not exist within the lifetime of living people, and that nevertheless ethnicity is an extremely real thing that ppl will kill or die for
Watching Attenborough’s planet earth story of endless struggle across every domain it becomes obvious that our dog Toby won the cosmic lottery.
She once dated Stan Lee, one of my favorite pieces of historical trivia. The relationship has been described as not working "because Highsmith was only interested in women and Stan Lee was only interested in Stan Lee."
Capital One has asked a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit from the Trump Org. over the closure of hundreds of bank accounts in 2021, arguing that the shutdowns were the product of a monthslong anti-money-laundering review — not retaliation for the Capitol riot, as the Trump businesses have claimed.
Okay! So hello. My name is Allison Gill. For the last 9 years, you’ve known me as Mueller, She Wrote. I used to have to be anonymous. But not anymore. So, hello world!
Changed my name from Mueller, She Wrote to my actual name, Allison Gill. Hoping I can get my blue check back. @joshpetri.bsky.team can you help?
Somewhere in the multiverse there is a discussion about sports as entertainment and why there are weight classes in judo.
I also don't totally understand what it's trying to prove. Like ok maybe the best men in the world are better than the best women due to inherent physiological advantages. So what? Do you go to a track meet and go "why is anyone watching this? a horse could easily outrun all these guys"
Bryan Caplan had a great essay on this in 2018 www.theatlantic.com/magazine/arc...
The World Might Be Better Off Without College for Everyone
Students don't seem to be getting much out of higher education.

I think vocational ed enhancement is a good thing. I also believe a lot of Americans go to college because it is expected, not because they like it or feel they benefit from it.
A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!
BREAKING: Sen. Dick Durbin accuses Todd Blanche of lying under oath. He says Blanche told him in his office — with witnesses — that the slush fund was a mistake. In his confirmation hearing, Blanche denied that remark.

Republicans love pushing vocational-only education instead of comprehensive-education because they want a healthy supply of low-cost servants and less competition for the professional and boss jobs they want their own kids to have.
