I would love to be proven wrong, but I feel like a lot of video game soundtracks tend not to use recognizable leitmotifs that repeat throughout the score, and as someone who loves hearing a core theme get reinterpreted and iterated on to give a musical throughline to a story, it's a real shame.

PSA for anyone playing Reanimal: I started it on PS5 tonight, and one of the early areas has a brief but gnarly lighting big that causes a bunch of flickering. Less pronounced here, but on my TV it was really rough to look at, even as someone without photosensitivity. @tarsierstudios.bsky.social

Chess is hundreds (and hundreds) of years old, and considered an unimpeachable classic by many. But as far as I’m concerned, it’s just been impeached.
