A councilmember asked King County Sheriff Patti Cole-Tindall if deputies would respond to a call about an arrest by someone claiming to be an ICE agent. “We could go out and say, ‘Hello…can I see your credentials?’ And they could say ‘pound sand,’ and that’s what we would do,” Cole-Tindall replied.

Hey folks, we're here at tonight's meeting of the Shoreline City Council. Tonight's agenda: discussion of amendments to the 2025-'26 final biennial budget, and discussion of the 2025 Shoreline Police Service Report. Shoreline has budgeted $36.5M toward police, about 24.33% of the total budget.

One last thing: wanted to clarify that all three of Roberts's changes went through. Robertson's change struck the language of "working with community members and organizations," and that the city will still work on signage about being a welcoming community. bsky.app/profile/ospr...

Resolution 560 has passed, with two of Roberts's three changes. Robertson moved to strike language to work with community members and organizations to develop and distribute signage affirming Shoreline's status as a "welcoming and safe community for all."

Hey folks, @jdmendez.com is at the Shoreline City Council meeting tonight! A few interesting matters are on the agenda this evening, including a resolution on the city's response to federal immigration agents in Shoreline and discussion on speed cameras in school zones.

Change is possible: Seattle's Westlake Ave Trail before/after The super useful Westlake Trail was carved out of a publicly owned parking lot. It was absurdly controversial at the time, with the loudest opponents being a “super yacht” marina. Now it’s loved and no one wants to go back.
