Make art 🎨, make love ❤️, make fun of yourself. Attracted to him, her & you(maybe). Shouldnt have to say but I'm not following scammers, get rich, 🪙 of bit, follow trains or any of that. Let's do better than the 🐦

Being creeped out by the sensation of being watched by someone without knowing it, makes a lot of sense. The fact that it sometimes kicks in because of a pattern on the wall or such, is not that big of a deal.

Look at your eyes in a mirror. You have sclera visible, the whites of your eyes are visible. Basically no other mammal has that, not even your closest primate relatives. The theory is that humans selected themselves for better gaze-tracking. Also why dogs have eyebrow bumps.

One interesting side effect of this is that you, a human, are probably very good at identifying whether someone is looking *at* you. And pareidolia means you can and will accidentally think random things are human eyes, sneakily gazing at you.

The "sensation of being watched" is the fight or flight or freeze reaction, the itch on the back of your neck is an adrenaline flush. Your "someone is looking at me but I can't see them" flag went off

Congrats to Wisconsin. Milwaukee is a classic baseball town with wonderful fans and y’all were overdue for one. Brewers were the best team bell to bell all season. Cheers 🍻

It's funny listening to old creepypastas from before 2016, talking about an internet that no longer exists. One with more than 5 websites, for instance. An alien internet to anyone under the age of like 30.

Someone needs to do a really good story about how, when serial rapists/traffickers like Jeffrey Epstein started attracting attention, instead of going after the men who harm women and girls, the rich and powerful instead knowingly chose to make life much much harder for women doing sex work.

This is a great article. Sex worker advertising dollars were the economic lifelines of many alt-weekly papers throughout the 90s and the Aughts. It was a golden age for both sex workers and alternative media, until Trump signed FOSTA/SESTA into law and transformed all of us into “sex traffickers” 🙄

For the 35th anniversary of the City Paper, I dug deep into the archives, to the time where ads for adult services sat alongside the sex column (the one before mine!) This was fun & not just because I’m both a spicy worker and a sex columnist at an alt weekly. www.pghcitypaper.com/columns/nigh...
