Trying to be a serious person, but probably thinking about X-Men and Star Trek.

A gig I was supposed to be going to later this month has been rescheduled to space year 2028. Sort of hilarious tbh. Good job I haven't experienced excitement since I was 11 years old otherwise I'd be crestfallen.

It’s been over 20 years since I read my first Lenore comic and Roman Dirge is still knocking them out. It’s hard to overstate how tied to the early 00s zeitgeist those comics were but they remain laugh-out-loud funny (the comedy timing Dirge has is unparalleled) and look incredible.

I'm not saying I DO want to live in the forest eating nuts and berries but no-one there is having to sit through a mandatory 3 hour presentation from Microsoft about AI use in Power Platform.

A definite sign of ageing is that you cannot impress me with "over 20 years" anymore. Am I expected to think this sauce is ancient, because it's as old as Nelly Furtado's Maneater?

God, I worked in a lot of cinemas. One for only a day though. The manager wanted staff to go “undercover” in the audience to identify people eating “outside” food. Obviously I ain’t no snitch. I sat and watched the 25th anniversary cut of The Exorcist and went home, never to return.

In honor of the fired lady tell me about your shortest job tenure. I worked at a candy store for less than 2 weeks when I was like 16

Saw someone on Reddit saying that the writers of the latest Ultimate books had "only 12 issues notice" to wrap up their stories and thinking of all the comics I've read which turned one issue's notice into a readable conclusion.

In the last month or two both RHLSTP and Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown have announced they're concluding. Slightly concerned about what I'm going to do without my middle-aged parasocial pals. If Adam Buxton wraps it up then it's all over for me.

The more I think about it, the more Strange New Worlds feels the most like TOS in spirit, because they’re not aiming for TNG high-minded morality plays and just going all in on “what fun can we have this week?”

Just watched the Transformers: The Movie rerelease in a packed cinema where the audience was mostly balding men in their 40s wearing hoodies. The two guys next to us quoted about 60% of the movie aloud and sang along to the soundtrack. The film looked great though!

I’m what you’d call a very lapsed Manics fan but this book is great, especially as an excuse to revisit their early career. I finally understand why they were so intent on making Generation Terrorists sound like GnR, though no closer to thinking it was a good idea.
