Minnesota faces a shortage of roughly 100,000 homes, Kraft said, and he frequently hears from residents about housing affordability. Expanding housing choices, he said, is one way cities can begin addressing that shortage. @larrykraft.bsky.social www.startribune.com/golden-valle...

I’m so honored to be #DFL endorsed for St Louis Park District 46A - with Cheryl Youakim endorsed in 46B. A huge thanks to everyone who spent their Sunday showing up for democracy. And extra thanks to all the organizers.

Trump is out of touch. He thinks the economy is great cause that’s what his billionaire buddies tell him. It’s time to change the system so it works well for all. In MN, you should be able to afford your life on an average salary, but right now, it’s becoming harder than ever to make ends meet.

I said a few words yesterday at a rally organized by elementary school parents. ICE has been staging all around the school in my MN community, terrorizing families and students. We’ve seen kids crying in fear as they’re getting to or leaving school. #ICEout

On top of the terrorizing of our Somali and immigrant communities in MN, I am devastated to hear about the shooting at Brown, and the anti-semitic mass shooting in Australia on the first day of Hanukkah.

The median income in MN can’t afford a median home. We need make it easier to build homes close to where people work and want to live. And prevent out of state speculators from driving up prices. btw - how about fixing healthcare - a huge drag on income! www.startribune.com/most-minneso...

In Minnesota, it now takes a six-figure income to buy a home

House prices in the state are rising faster than incomes, making homeownership — long a marker of middle class status — out of reach for many.
